Back in Time: Preparing for the White Night

Skip back in time to a few days before Nuit Blanche. Our first day on-site at Olympic Plaza we bulbed late into the night, preparing nervously to leave our sculpture outside over-night. We had security, but I’m sure you can understand the anxiety in the air. We were cold, stressed out, and getting ready to leave a 600-pound sculpture covered in highly-breakable glass outdoors in a public park in the middle of downtown Calgary. It was terrifying. Plus, there was so much to do! Welding, bulbing, arranging 2-thousand pounds worth of steel… But when the sun sets and CLOUD goes on, it all becomes infinitely more worth it.
